I used to be the very opposite of a homebody. In the past, I would quickly start getting stir crazy if I wasn’t consistently out doing something or traveling somewhere. But the world is a different place now. Staying home whenever possible is an important part of life, so I’ve been on a quest to make my space as cosy as I can!

When you think of eBay, I’m sure “auctions” pop to mind. Of course, that was what they used to specialize in but this isn’t just what they are all about now. I went on a hunt to find pieces that would spark my creativity to decorate my home and let me tell you, I wasn’t disappointed.

My style is typically quite minimal and I was thrilled to find so many amazing pieces that I adored on the site! Let me start with this unfinished Hand Turned wood bowl that is perfect for storing our lemon and limes. We use a lot of citrus in our food and when we have cocktail nights so this bowl is going to come in handy!

I had to order this vintage Moonshine Jug and while I’m not using it to store any home made alcohol, I think it serves as a delightful vase! Definitely a conversation starter but being vintage, it was a unique item that isn’t available anymore. However, another great part of eBay is that there are so many similar items and I’m going to link them here : Jug 1 / Jug 2

My Mister has been trying really hard to keep my spirits up. In fact, every morning he brings me coffee in bed and now he uses this adorable heart shaped tray and it never fails to make me smile. Can you believe that it’s under 10 bucks!?

I’ve also been cooking tons more at home. I’m sure if you’re following me on Instagram, you might have seen a few of my home made dishes in my Stories. The one thing I really wanted to get into was baking my own bread. So this bread basket was a must have. You know for my first time, I think it came out looking pretty good! A little chewy though, so room for improvement.

The pandemic has really changed our lives dramatically and that goes for how we shop too. A lot of us are getting more and more things online and as a business, having an online presence is vital. eBay is doing it’s part in trying to ensure that small businesses emerge successfully on the other side of the pandemic by helping provide a platform to get products in front of their over 180 million buyers. With powerful selling tools and insights, a business can see what products resonate with shoppers and not just stay afloat, but hopefully even grow with customers shopping from all over.eBay want to help you set up shop so please click here to see how easy it is for you to start getting your products in front of so many potential customers, like me!

And as a shopper, I also want to do my part to support small businesses whenever I can. All the pieces I found and that were featured on this post came from small businesses that now like us, have to navigate a world facing a pandemic. These items help to brighten up my decor and lighten the mood at home and sometimes, you can’t just put a dollar amount on that effect. And every purchase makes a difference to a small business.

I’m still on the hunt and I’ve recently noticed that I’ve been neglecting our walls. But I found the perfect Ebay Store, The Ross Art Group via Poster Pro. So many amazing original vintage posters that would add so much character and vibe to our walls. I also found Dipitty and Snark which offers hand made cards, stationery, stickers and illustrated gifts. We’re sending each other texts and emails but the feeling of receiving a physical card that is hand made especially in these unprecedented times could make all the difference in the world. It could brighten the day of someone who needs it badly and perhaps even make us feel close even when we are forced to physically distance ourselves for now.

So I want to close out this blog post by saying that I hope all of you out there are staying safe and if you can, please support small businesses.

Hey guys, it’s been a while. So much has happened since the last time I blogged. The Covid-19 Pandemic changed our world so much and so quickly. Things we took for granted like going out for a meal, going to the gym or to the beach were all put on hold for a long while. So many people have lost their jobs or businesses, all of us are facing unprecedented challenges.

And in the last few weeks, we have gathered on the streets to appeal for justice. For an end to racial injustice and for all of us to be able to live our lives free of prejudice. In spite of the tremendous personal trials that a lot of people are facing, we are coming together for a greater good. I am inspired, I am hopeful and I believe we will achieve a future that is better than our present circumstances find us in.

I sincerely hope that all of you are safe and in contact with loved ones. I am so fortunate to have Reuben and Freddie with me and we are sending love out to every one of you guys!

A couple of weeks ago during NYFW, I had the fun opportunity to play dress-up with Farfetch. They rented an amazing townhouse in Manhattan and I had a blast styling just a few of the amazing brands they carry!

Now, I’ve always been a fan of Farfetch. I’ve shopped on their site many times and since it was cold and rainy in New York, I used the weather as an excuse to play with some amazing outerwear pieces. They also had some beautiful accessories and pairing some of the bags they had with my looks was definitely a highlight!

Here are three looks I put together – so let me know which was is your fav? As always, thanks for reading!

Look 1: Low Classic belted faux leather jacket /Low Classic Wide leg Tailored Pants / Wandler GEORGIA Leather shoulder bag

Look 2: Alice and Olive Color Block coat / Tony Bianco Luna Boots / JW Anderson bag

Look 3: 3.1 Phillip Lim leather trench / Pants / Burberry mini monogram shoulder bag

Long coats will always have space in my closet and a place in my heart. I have a few of them and they are all different. Different in lengths, texture, cuts, patterns, you name it! I just love how they drape and how they make me look so tall!

This one is a new addition from Suistudio, a brand I absolutely adore. They make such amazing suits, coats etc. I’ve worn one of their suits here in a previous post (click on the link and see what I mean!). The brand is a master at creating amazing silhouettes and this coat is no exception. Styled with my go to black tee + mom jeans and pumps, it really elevates an otherwise casual look to a whole other level.

I’ve really been into lettered t-shirts lately. My recent feature was this Anine Bing Tee and now this New York City tee from Nordstrom finds it way onto the blog. I love how easy it is to style and that it can be dressed up or down. If you are still on the hunt for a gift for a girlfriend, getting a tee like this that you think would resonate with her is a great gift idea! Nordstrom has an amazing assortment that I know she’ll love. This one is one of my faves for the new year.

Also, this Teddy coat in brown is on sale right now and if you are still searching for one, you’re going to love this piece. I’m a fan of the black buttoned detail and it can easily be styled with a black turtleneck top or just a plain black tee, and it is sooooo soft!

Dunton Hot Springs is one of my favorite places on the planet. Especially when it snows. Some of you might already have known that this is our second time here, but this time we have a furry little tag along. So this isn’t just part 2 of our road trip, but also part 2 of our Dunton Experience. Speaking of Freddie, he had an amazing time diving into the snow!

Dunton is in southwest Colorado and is pretty remote and that is part of the charm. There’s no cellphone reception (although the resort offers super fast wifi on the property) so you can disconnect and focus on relaxation. The staff do their utmost to make you feel like you well looked after from the moment you arrive.

We left Zion super early in the morning, before sunrise. Reuben knew that we had a long drive ahead of us and wanted to ensure that we had a full day in Dunton. Its a pretty breathtaking drive because it started snowing as we were leaving Zion and we had an amazing mixture of Fall and Winter weather as we made our way through Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and finally Colorado.

Our excitement kept building and when we saw the amazing property appear on the horizon, our anticipation reached it’s peak! Noah and James greeted us and got us through the check in procedure and our bags were in our cabin before we even knew it! We were so eager to walk around and reminisce about the last time we were here and Freddie just wanted to run about in the snow!

As you can see by the pics, Dunton is just so beautiful! The air is fresh and crisp and you can’t help but feel so invigorated. But not going to lie, we spent a lot of time in the Saloon enjoying amazing cocktails. Myra and Heather always ensured we were never without a drink in hand and during the duration of our stay, Chef John made us incredibly delicious meals!

It goes without saying that both my Mister and I enjoyed ourselves tremendously. We took a dip in the bathhouse, read in the library and soaked in the mountain air as much as we could. But Freddie was the one who really made the most of his time there. If you guys were following along in my Stories, you would have seen him make a couple of new doggy friends. Budge, a neighbor dog who Reuben and I met and hung out with on our first trip, and Eva. We were really hoping to see Budge again and ran out of the saloon excitedly when we saw him trotting around outside!

We think Freddie fell in love with adorable little Eva. She is actually owned by Eric who we met and who checked us in on our first visit 4 years prior! We were so glad we got to catch up with him and meet his little pup.

When it was time to leave, we did so with a heavy heart. We felt refreshed and to be honest, we were already planning another visit maybe in the Summer or Fall. Dunton will always have a special place in my heart and watching Freddie have the best time there made me feel so happy. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the staff  for welcoming us and taking such amazing care of all 3 of us.

Road trips are great for the soul. The open road, the amazing sights, the weather and the scenery feed the ancient need in all of us, to explore. The Mister, pup and I recently took a fantastic road trip to Zion and Colorado and I just wanted to share the amazing experience starting with our first leg in Zion. I really want to thank Volvo for loaning us an XC90 T8 Inscription because it really came in handy on our drive!

The theme of our trip really was “the seasons” because we experienced 3 of them on our drive! We left L.A during a summer -like heat wave. It was 90+ degrees and as we drove through Las Vegas and got closer to Zion, it started raining. And more amazingly, it started looking like Fall. The leaves, the smells… I loved it! In the rain, Reuben really appreciated the all wheel drive on our Volvo. We felt super safe and not going to lie, I LOVED the massaging seats! Plus, Freddie matched the interior perfectly.

The drive from Vegas to Zion is breathtaking in spots. The mountains really give you sense of perspective. It’s one thing to see them in the distance but you really get a sense of how impressive they are when you’re driving right between them!

We spent the night at Zion Mountain Ranch and to get to it, we had to drive through Zion National Park. I’ll admit that we didn’t do any research about Zion before leaving but a few of you guys told me it would be an unforgettable experience and you know what? It was!

The sheer size of the mountains, the vast scenery and the beautiful colors are indescribable! Zion Mountain Ranch is so peaceful and it’s also a Bison reservation. The good people there are looking after an adorable baby bison named Betty that we got to meet. If you guys were following along on my Insta stories, you would have seen how excited Freddie was to meet her. I think he thought she was another dog! They are hoping to re-introduce her to the local herd soon so if you want to meet her close up, plan a trip ASAP! We spent such a restful night before continuing on to Dunton super early the next morning, so look for Part 2 of this post coming soon!

Keeping it casual and comfortable as I make my way to the Nordstrom Black Friday deals. Just kidding! I’m not getting out of my PJs and am just going to shop everything online, like a pro! Nordstrom is giving us a preview of what’s already going to be on sale so click here to see it. Keep in mind that prices are going to drop even more, so start putting your wishlist together guys. But if you see something you just have to get, I wouldn’t hesitate.

Speaking of wishlists, this Anine Bing Tee has been in my shopping cart for almost a month so I am happy I finally got my hands on it. Since its the time of the year where temps dip quite bit in the evenings, I wanted an oversized coat that’s easy to pair with any tee or sweater. Be aware that I am 5’2″ so keep that in mind for reference.

Nordstrom.com is a great place to pick up gifts for anyone in your life. Big gifts or stocking stuffers, they have the right items for you and they make it really easy, just search by price range (including under $100 and $50) and see for yourself! Click on this link for a preview and mark November 26th on your calendar, as their Cyber experience is going live at 1201 am that day! Plus, there are even more deals going live on Black Friday (11/28/19) at 1201 am!

As you’re reading this, we are off on yet another road trip, this time to Dunton Hot Springs so stay tuned to my Instagram over the next few days! This post however, is all about our last road trip to another beautiful location, Carmel.

Living in So Cal, we are so blessed to be close to so many different experiences. The old California cliché of “surfing in the morning and skiing in the afternoon” is actually possible, especially this time of the year. Carmel is a laid back and picturesque town to the north of Los Angeles, along the coast. Its a beautiful drive and we actually did PCH for a majority of the drive there and back because even though it adds time to it, you just don’t feel it!

I got a ton of questions on Instagram about where we stayed and that didn’t really surprise me. Vagabond’s House Inn is definitely going to be our go-to whenever we feel the need to get out of LA and relax in Carmel. This charming bed and breakfast is the perfect combination of old world charm and modern amenities. Their newly renovated rooms are still warmly decorated and the bathroom is to die for! Plus, really appreciated the heated bathroom floor in the morning!

But there are so many B&B’s in Carmel and that is part of its charm. No matter what your preference, you’re going to find a great place to stay and all of them are located within walking distance to downtown so pack your walking shoes.

There are so many great options for foodies. Much more than you would think for a town this small. We had an amazing dinner at Seventh and Dolores  (highly recommended!) which was a 5 minute walk from our B&B and pet friendly. Yes, little Freddie was along for the ride and we picked Carmel because of how pet friendly it is. So many restaurants have not only pet friendly patios with heaters, some even have pet friendly sections inside so you can stay extra warm! We also stumbled onto a newer place that had opened a few months earlier called Stationæry. We met the lovely couple who own it and found out that while they are locals, they actually lived in LA for years and they are also owners of an adorable Blenheim Cavalier pup named Henry! Naturally, we bonded immediately ;). But their food is the real star of the place. In fact, we loved it so much that we came back for dinner and then lunch again before heading back to LA.

The next day we did the famous 17 mile drive along Pebble Beach. I had read about it before hand but we were debating until a reader raved about it to me. We are so glad we did it because the coastline views are stunning! There are lots of places to stop and take it in too.

We also took Freddie to the dog friendly beach which unsurprisingly, is basically walking distance from downtown. He utterly loves the beach. And if you guys were following along on Insta Stories, you saw how much. He ran his heart out and said “hi” to everyone there! It warmed our hearts so much to see him have such unbridled fun.

At the end of our trip, on our drive back actually, we were talking about how hard it was to leave and how we have to come back in a few months. We were feeling so relaxed and almost glowing from our Carmel experience that we can’t wait to return. And we are both so thankful that we live relatively close so whenever we feel the need to unplug out of LA, we can jump in the car and head here.

Finally, the temps are starting to dip into Fall territory! And when I’m seeking Fall attire, I know Nordstrom will have what I’m looking for. I headed straight to the TopShop section and I found a bunch of pieces including this cream Banana sleeve funnel neck sweater that is still lurking in my wish list.

My first look features an amazing coat that I’m going to be styling a lot this season. I’m really feeling dark brown tones for early Fall and I took that into outfit 2.

My second outfit shares two staples from my first look and goes into a different direction with a daring slitted skirt. The faux fur bag is such a steal too, and considering how well it fits into both looks, I think it’s a big hit! One of my “must haves” for Fall is this affordable pair of brown suede pumps, I have a similar pair that gets lots of attention and this one right here is just as good!
