TECHNOLOGY BREAK

Top: StyleStalker / Shorts: Zara / Shoes: Joe Jeans / Clutch Envelope: Elisabeth Weinstock

smartwater is running an Instagram look up challenge that is asking us for our best moments when we take a break from our assorted tech and "look up" from our laptops, phones and tablets.
Most times when I work on my blog posts, I am usually at my desk in my home office. Now with longer days and warmer nights, I love taking the opportunity to work outside whenever I can. This outfit is inspired by one of those instances.

I was working on a post and was having trouble picking out what pictures to use. In exasperation, I decided to give my eyes a break, so leaned back on my deck chair and started getting mesmerized by the blue skies around me. All of a sudden, an "outfit eureka" moment hit me and I ran to get the hubs to do a shoot!

Taking a break from technology is important because sometimes, we can get bogged down by it all and our creativity can suffer so you never know what a little pause might inspire.

VICHY IDÉALIA

Thanks to Vichy and Socialstars by Crowdtap for giving me #LifeProofSkin and sponsoring this post but all opinions expressed are my own.

Truth be told, I am not one that has an intensive beauty regime. I tend to keep it simple with my usual 3-step system. Now when I stay out late, have too much fun in the sun or indulge in a whole molten lava chocolate cake ;), my skin takes a little hit. When Vichy came out with the Idealia Life Serum and Idealia Eye and wanted me to take on their #Lifeproofskin challenge, I was definitely intrigued in seeing how much of a difference it would make in just 8 days. Taking into account the effect that a woman's day to day has on skin quality, they created a serum to "Life Proof" your skin. Now, even a high stress lifestyle is no match for this regime.

I've used both products this past week and I am pleasantly surprised at how quickly I am seeing results! What's also great about this is that it's paraban free and it worked perfectly well as a substitution for moisturizer. If you have dry skin, applying the serum under moisturizer might be your best bet. Just within the last couple of days, my pores are much smaller, my skin feels softer, supple and vibrant even  after a week of no-no foods, too little sleep and too much sun.

Idealia life serum has launched today at all ULTA stores and I highly suggest you give it a shot by challenging it yourself. Big thanks to Vichy for asking me to take on this challenge, thumbs up!

STEALS THE DEAL

Tshirts: Target ( Black in XS and Striped in Medium) / Jeans: Topshop / shoes: Zara (similar here) /
FannyPack: HipstersforSisters / Watch: Fossil / Sunglasses: Raen

Cheers to the weekend everyone! In this post, I am back to basics. You can never have too many basics, for instance these tees from Target. Soft, great fit and affordable, the real DEAL. I bought two tees for under 18 bucks and layered them for a comfy casual look. I wanted a hint of stripes so I layered my black tee over the stripes. A white and grey combo is next on my list ;)

CHARMING CHARLIE

Top: Twenty Tees / Skirt: Zara / Shoes: Shoemint / Jewelry: Charming Charlie / Lace Bra: 2020Ave

It's been awhile since I wore something bright and fun so over the weekend, I dressed up for an afternoon brunch with the hubs.

The outfit felt incomplete without accessories so I added some fun and bold gold bracelets and rings from Charming Charlie but kept my neckline bare instead. I was recently introduced to this brand and I fell in love with their huge variety of affordable jewelry. On one arm, I wanted something that screamed "glam" so I went for their Sparkle row cuff bracelet and a band width ring set. For my other arm, I kept it feminine by going with the simplicity of midi rings and a Geo Gem stretch bracelet. It was fun mixing up these pieces and coming up with a combo that works.
Head on over to Charming Charlie and see why I'm smitten!
