I’ve had this coat in my closet for a while and was dying to feature it but the weather has not been cooperating! Finally today it was cloudy and cool enough for me to take it out for a spin. Naturally, the coat is sold out now.

I like shooting things more in real time vs shooting looks head of time but that can be really hard when the things I find sell out by the time I get to sharing it with you guys. Apologies in advance, but if you do happen to be in store at your local H&M, try to find it. Sometimes it’s nice to go out on the hunt for something and this coat is worth the effort!

One of my favorite looks from NYFW, as I made my way to the Dion Lee show. It was super cold but I really wanted to wear this vintage inspired sweater without a jacket or coat because you don’t cover up something that looks this good!

 So if you look closely, you’ll see I was holding some Hot Hand warmers to stay warm! Oh, the sacrifices we make for a good outfit…Pretty much in every photo, I’ve got warmers clenched in my hands as we did this shoot outside the NoMo Soho, where we stayed during our entire trip. Also, a lot of you voted for this yellow bag from Thale Blanc via my IG stories when I was having a dilemma as to which bag I should carry with this outfit so you guys were a part of putting this look together!

Hey from NYC, guys! We are back in the city and totally loving the Fall weather! Can’t lie though, we’re a little disappointed that the leaves in Central Park are still green. But I’m hoping this looks encourages some Fall colors to start showing themselves!

I firmly believe that you can find art in almost everything. It doesn’t just exist in traditional channels like paintings or music. It can show itself in so many other ways and The Peninsula Chicago takes hospitality to such a level that it becomes an art form!

The Mister and I took a long overdue trip to Chicago at the beginning of October and we were lucky enough to call The Peninsula Chicago our home during our time in the city. We were last here when The Peninsula Chicago invited us to celebrate their 15th birthday and that was certainly a party we will never forget! So naturally, we were very excited to return and experience that one of a kind Peninsula hospitality again.

Outfit 1: Orange Sweater / Yellow Satin Skirt / Brown suede pumps

During our previous stay, I raved about how beautiful and inspiring it is with artwork all over the property and also how amazing our suite was. Our most recent visit was no exception and you can read all about the amazing tech that puts control of the entire suite at your fingertips here. And like before, the gorgeous views are just to die for! But there is a new side to The Peninsula Chicago and a new way to take in that iconic skyline.

Outfit 2: Purple Mohair Sweater / Striped Pants / White Wrist bag

The Peninsula Chicago is now home to one of the best rooftop bar experiences in the city, Z Bar! Every facet from the cocktails to the food to the decor has been obsessed over to ensure a one of a kind experience. For instance, The “Old Fashioned” (The Mister’s drink of course) features a young walnut instead of a cherry. Reuben was all about that! My drink called “True North”, is a vodka concoction with little jelly bubbles that burst in your mouth! Plus the little hibiscus leaf is not just a garnish, it is also edible. These ingenious twists come from the brilliant mind of Vlad Novikov, Director of Cocktails and Culture who has definitely put his background in chemistry to good use.

We had the pleasure of chatting with Vlad for a few minutes as he graciously came over to ensure we were having a great time and he mentioned how his cocktails are his way of creating art. We couldn’t agree more and while Vlad is a credit to The Peninsula, he is no exception. Every single staff member from the moment you walk into the property to the housekeeping staff are focused on making you comfortable. Indeed, “art” is the word I would choose if I had describe The Peninsula experience in a syllable and we are so thankful to have had the chance to enjoy it immensely.

Leopard Print in back on trend you guys! Not sure how some of you feel about that (let me know in the comments) but it keeps coming back over and over again.

SO happy we got to be in San Francisco the past weekend where I got to pack a couple of coats and sweaters. The weather was stunning! Stay tuned because we got to check out some new stores, restaurants and neighborhoods and I am working on a travel guide for an upcoming post. If you’re thinking of a quick getaway, San Francisco is just beautiful this time of year and so easy to get to!

In the meantime, I  really want to highlight how in love with these camel pants I am!  I think they are selling out pretty quick so if you are a fan, jump on it right now. Everyone needs some great camel pants in their closet. Great for work and after work as well.

Finally, I just wanted to send some love out there because it is the anniversary of 9.11 and while we’ll never forget, Love is the best way to combat hate. As you guys know by now, NYC is a favorite of mine. I am always inspired by the city and New Yorkers in general. I want to thank all of them for always being so welcoming and generous whenever we visit the city. Love you guys!

There’s always something new to discover in the city. The Mister and I have been to NYC so often that the term “bi-coastal” is starting to apply to us (almost)! We have so many amazing friends there and even if schedules clash and we can’t meet, there’s always the next trip in a few weeks. So in saying that, you might expect us to be getting a little weary of the city. But no! On the contrary in fact. In previous posts both on the blog and on Instagram, I’ve talked about staying in different neighborhoods and how each part of the city has its own vibe and energy. Well, the last couple of trips we’ve been gravitating towards NoMad and the Mister and I love it.

For this past trip, we were lucky enough to be staying at The James New York – NoMad. I’ve stayed at The James in SoHo and immediately became a fan and I’m happy to say that their NoMad location has that signature James feel. The hotel is a new addition to the neighborhood (fully opening in February 2018) but the building itself is not. The hotel has managed to balance both the historic appearance of the facade and the modern amenities you would expect from a high end hotel brand. From the moment you walk in, you are taken by the modernistic feel of the lobby and lounge but that exterior feels right at home alongside the other historic buildings on Madison.

And of course there is Scarpetta and THE Spaghetti. Just so you guys know, this neighborhood is ridiculous for food. Korea Way is 3 blocks away on 32nd with some amazing eats (late night too!) and Murray (Curry) Hill is just past Broadway on 29th. But Scarpetta is next to the lobby of The James so you don’t even have to leave the building to dine well. Mind you, it was packed every day we were there during both lunch and dinner services but we managed to snag bar seating twice (yes!) so reservations are recommended and ordering the Spaghetti is required (by the Mister, not the restaurant ;)!

Usually when we travel to the city, our heads are down and we’re going from meeting to meeting, shooting looks, work and events or a combination of the lot. But this time, we balanced our time better so we had an opportunity to explore this neighborhood and even visit some new places we hadn’t been. We went uptown to Harlem to experience its unique energy and have an amazing meal at Red Rooster (hi Tomi!) and we even went in to New Jersey to visit my dear blogger friend Kyrzayda. And before we knew it, 6 days had come and gone and we were heading to the airport for our flight back home. The funny thing was that as we were waiting to take off, the hubs and I were already talking about our next trip back. For some of you, that might sound crazy! But you have to realize that NYC is always changing and there are new flavors to discover and new sights to see. There’s a reason why so many come to visit and live here, even with some of the worst traffic in the world.

And that reason is, there’s always something new to discover in the city.

Hey guys, once again I apologize for going missing in action. If you’re following me on IG, you would have heard about my complicated wisdom tooth extraction situation. After almost a week, I am back on my computer and it feels good to be getting back into a rhythm!

Kicking off this week with this statement top that I absolutely adore. Bright blue chiffon fabric with balloon sleeve, this is a total head-turner! I remember shooting this look in Downtown LA and had a couple honks from passing cars and people passing by saying they loved it so I’d say this a good look.

You have no idea how excited I am to have this cute pink short suit in my closet. I rarely wear shorts but when you find the right silhouette that fits your 5’2 height, you BUY it. The fabric is light enough for summer and can be worn with sneakers for an uber casual 90’s look. Also, the entire matching suit is just $80.00 not too bad at all, am I right?

 The hubs said this look reminded him of Pretty Woman when Julia wore her rusty orange short suit towards the end of the movie. I didn’t realize it until he brought it up. Either way it’s one of my all time favorite movies so subconsciously, I might have been inspired by that!

Whenever I feel I’m in a fashion rut, I always turn to a “go-to” black and white ensemble . In this instance, a simple black tee shortened and “accessorized” with a knot paired and some fab high waisted pants. Super minimal but if it works, it works!

My idea is to keep the accessories understated and go for neutral colors (nothing surprising there). This look however, is also paired with a pretty blow out by my favorite Hairstylist, Nick Flores at Sally Hershberger Los Angeles. He’s just so good at getting these beach-y soft waves. Maybe you guys would like to see a tutorial during my next visit? Let me know!

Happy Friday everyone! So excited to be in NYC tomorrow. It’s been a while since we went back (compared to last year when we were there almost every other month!). On a similarly happy note, I am packing my fancy red wide leg pants again with me. I got them in Feb this year in the city at the H&M store near Flatiron. Typical me, I had them buried under a pile of clothes and totally forgot about it. Unfortunately they are not available online anymore, My Bad! I should have photographed them months ago. But fret not because I’m going to link a few similar looking pants below. You just can’t go wrong with some statement Red Pants and I think you guys are going to love these!
