Hi guys! Sharing a look we shot in Grand Rapids a couple of weeks ago. Fall in Michigan is something else! We were actually driving to Grand Rapids from Chicago where we got to spend a couple days at one of our favorite properties, The Peninsula Chicago. I really recommend that drive because it is just beautiful along Lake Michigan with tons of little towns and main streets along the way.

While Chicago was all about experiencing the city and getting in some shoots, Grand Rapids was about family. The Mister and I have been wanting to visit his Uncle Alfred and Auntie Judy as well as his cousins for a while now but schedules always got in the way. I guess it was meant to be because when we finally got the dates locked in, it coincided with Auntie Judy’s birthday so everyone was heading up to Grand Rapids anyway!

We also spent a day in Lansing to see the most amazing house Reuben’s cousin and his wife bought a couple of years ago. It used to be a firehouse that they have put some hard work into and it already looks amazing! Plus, they kept the pole! They still have a few more plans that they are working on and we can’t wait to go back to see it completed.

Needless to say, we loved our time in Michigan. It really reminded us how lucky we are when we were celebrating together and I will always be thankful for that.

You guys can’t blame me for still sprinkling in some NYC photos from December 2017. It was sooooo cold and we still did a bunch of shoots so I’m sure you understand right!? Seriously though it was a fun challenge to bundle up for warmth but at the same time, still style outfits that I liked. I have a couple more and then it’s back to LA looks so stay tuned.

 I wanted to touch base a little on the oversized coat trend. I’ve always loved it because of it’s such a cool “Urban” casual look. Coats can make us think of rigidness but This one (on sale right now) in particular is so soft and warm yet not bulky at all. The dark olive tone is so easy to style and will pretty much go with anything in your closet. I wanted to initially pair it with a some oxfords for an androgynous look but it was far too cold to show any skin around the ankle so booties it was. And you know what, it turned into a good practical AND fashion choice.

I’ve always been a fan of fanny packs but it’s a challenge finding something cute. This is actually a crossbody bag that you might have seen me feature before right here. Since the straps are long and adjustable, I decided to tie it around my waist and wear it as a fanny. Quite honestly, I thought that was quite brilliant (no shame ;). By the way, I am still on the search for some cute fanny packs and I’ve already found a few here and here.

Can you guys believe that Spring is already upon us? The great thing about this season, besides the warmer temps and (hopefully) sunnier days is I really loving the new Spring pieces that are popping out in stores and on the streets already! New season calls for new additions, like a new bag! This post for Brahmin features the Brinley in Forest Melbourne. I love this bag because it’s so perfectly structured yet ladylike and chic. I wanted to edge it up a little so I paired it with a pair of lace up boots and a long duster coat and kept the colors pretty neutral so the bag would pop perfectly, in all it’s textured (faux) snakeskin beauty.
