Currently in NYC for the week and we really lucked out with the weather here in the city! When we landed, it was all cloudy and rainy and we were expecting the worst. So the last couple of days have been great for us! I love packing kimonos when I am traveling. Especially when temps can drop in the evenings and this embroidered kimono was just the perfect light and bright piece and plus it’s so silky.

We’ve only got a couple days left in the city and as always we are reluctant to leave. There’s just something about being here that stirs my creative spirit. Thankfully, it’s probably not going to be too long before we return so we can’t wait!

Hey guys, I had to take a couple days off but I am back with lots of new content on the way! We are also still putting our new place together but am waiting on a few more items to be delivered in the next few weeks. Was really hoping to have everything ready by 2017 but it seems like furniture shopping and shipping take forever! I am such a newbie to home decor and am constantly looking for inspiration via Pinterest. Happy Friday! If I had to sum up a look specifically look based on the city I live in then this would be my “LA” look during fall. In other words, this is the definition of my GO-TO LA look – White tee, mum jean and a slouchy cozy cardigan with a touch of metallic elements to dress it up just a little bit. It’s such an easy and relatable outfit that I think most of us would be comfortable pulling this or something similar off. If you are not feeling the mum jeans, just switch them out with a pair of skinnies or boyfriend jeans. I do have a different “NYC” look which I’ll share when I am back in the city again so stay tuned!

Really excited for the weekend as the Mister and I are attending a Veuve Cliquot polo event tomorrow. I believe it’s my 4th year attending the match so it’s becoming somewhat of an annual tradition.

Things have gotten a little hectic this week, so it’s good we shot a bunch of looks when we were in NYC last month! I initially liked my hair up for the look but decided that I wanted an element of movement for the shots and somehow not having my hair fall over my face felt weird to me so I let it down half way through. First, I have to say I’m really sorry for not posting as much as I normally do. It’s been quite a week because, after over 7 years in our current place we are finally moving and we cannot be more excited! At the same time, it’s extremely overwhelming. It’s Friday!! I am checking out of LA this weekend and heading to Palm Springs tomorrow for a mini getaway with friends. I’ve been to NYC now several times, as most of you guys know. I’ve also stayed at many different parts of the city. It’s funny how I’ve noticed that shooting in Midtown Manhattan or in SoHo or in the Upper West Side has such a different vibe, you even get unique reactions from the people passing by. I remember shooting outfit posts in SoHo which I love because the backdrop is just amazing! Of course, there are always a ton of other people shooting stuff but that adds to the creative vibe in that part of the city. But there is also an underlying judgmental edge that sometimes peeks its head out with smirks or head shaking glances from a few which might surprise some of you.  Shooting in Midtown has an almost “light” outlook and vibe. For instance, I had people walking by me and asking me to smile, some say “nice outfit” “get it girl” and the Upper West Side is filled with families and kids cheering me on and that just leaves me smiling like a goof for so many of the shots!

I would say that my experiences are a reflection of the diversity of the city. Of course not all of it is perfect but I think that’s what makes New York City so special and unique. I would still shoot in SoHo any day of the week even if I had to swim in an ocean of judgement while doing it (it’s really not that bad to be honest). The great thing is that I would then hit Midtown or the Upper West Side and cheer myself up if I needed to. Plus, I’d probably hit Shake Shack or(and!) Levain’s for an even bigger boost of positivity!

The season is changing in NYC and I love it. Unfortunately the color of the leaves haven’t started changing yet but if you’ve never been to NYC in Fall then do yourself a favor and go! It’s my favorite time of the year especially in this city and there is nothing like taking a walk around Central Park at the height of Fall.

A lot of you have already seen me post looks featuring these hot pink mules from Balenciaga a bunch of times on my Instagram channel. I bought these a few weeks before leaving for NYC in July and kept them in the box for almost 2 weeks contemplating if I should return them. I was worried the color would be too loud to style and wasn’t sure if I would wear them enough to justify the purchase but the more I kept seeing them, the more I wanted to keep them. I realized that with my style, usually in monochromatic or in neutral tones, styling them wouldn’t be as big a problem for me as I initially thought. So I finally made up my mind and debuted them in NYC and yup, no regrets at all!

I know this is such a weekend look and I should be posting it on Friday but I really love this top and couldn’t wait to share it. So I am hoping it gives you some sort of motivation to persevere even if you’re having a tough week because the weekend is close!

I wasn’t too keen with the ruffle trend and was extremely picky about what I bought but you can count me in on exaggerated sleeves. This one in particular gives off a little bit of a vintage vibe which I absolutely love. Paired it with shorts to keep the look sporty and sneakers to give it a little edge.
