GLAM WAVES WITH TRESEMME

Hey guys, my final hair style of NYFW was definitely my fav look of the week and on top of that, thanks to TRESemmé, I got to attend Rachel Zoe’s wonderful 70s’s inspired presentation.

For the show I already made up my mind that I wanted a monochrome outfit with my lip color and hair style making a statement. I went for that Hollywood Glam look with lots of curls and shine! An added bonus to this look is that it is so easy to recreate at home! So here’s a little step by step on how you to rock your own big sexy curls all using the TRESemmé collection.

1) Spray the TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray all over your hair. This will help hold and create a tousled texture. (as mentioned in my previous post, I can’t go anywhere without this product)

2) Take small sections of hair and curl away from your face with a curling wand of your choice.

3) Run your fingers through your hair to brush out the curls so they bounce and spring naturally.

4) Finish the look with some light sprays of TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Hairspray. Don’t be afraid of using too much it’s easily brushable without stickiness!

As you guys saw on my Instagram and snapchat, these curls lasted all the way till I got back to LA (3 days to be exact). On the 2nd day, all I did was to use TRESemmé Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo, brushed my fingers through my hair and finished it off again with TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Hairspray to maintain the look and I was out the door!

Climate Protection Finishing Spray

This is one of my go-to looks, simple beachy/messy waves. Even before my partnership with TRESemmé, I was already a huge fan of their Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray. In all my posts where I went with beachy waves or even in my natural curls, this is the product I use right after a wash. It’s the perfect prep before curling your hair.

I was lucky enough to have an appointment for TRESemmé to spoil me with a great styling session after the Rebecca Minkoff show. I was obviously very inspired by the bangs and waves on the models backstage but unfortunately I don’t think bangs suit me but I’m all about waves. So right after the show at the TRESemmé Salon at Moynihan Station, I was introduced to 2 other fantastic products, their Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam (which was also used to help create the styles on the models at the show earlier) and Climate Protection Finishing Spray! Omg, so essential when your hair is dealing with moody weather like in New York where it would rain then and get warm and humid and finally cool down later in the evening. On damp hair they evenly applied the Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam to help create a tousled texture. Once dry, medium sections of my hair were wrapped around curling iron to create soft waves. The look was finished with the Climate Protection Finishing Spray and I was all set for a night out on the town.

BACKSTAGE AT TRACY REESE

Sitting right across from Sarah Jessica Parker was indeed a highlight for me at NYFW. She was also really sweet and kind enough to reply on my instagram post. I was totally fangirl-ing out

WHEW! I am finally back in LA from NYC after attending a whirlwind New York Fashion Week and I have SO MUCH to share with you guys! Super excited about the next few posts that will take you all through my NYFW exploits, so stay tuned.

I was invited by Mary Kay to attend the Tracy Reese Show as well as scoping out the fantastic work by the make up artists backstage using Mary Kay products.

The Tracy Reese Spring Summer 2016 collection was inspired by illumination and transparency. In her designs, Tracy wanted to incorporate moments of shine, reflection and sparkle though the use of sequins and beautiful rhinestones, encouraging the inner self to shine. The natural, organic structure of her designs promote fluidity, ease and wearability. Hence the fresh and natural makeup look with strategically placed details designed to sparkle under the runway lights, all with the help of Mary Kay. When the makeup so beautifully complements the collection, it makes for a cohesive show that brings out the best in the designs.

TRACY REESE SPRING SUMMER 2016

Face:

Skin is prepped for a glowing, luminous finish. First, the Satin Lips Mask is applied to the lips for 1-2 minutes to exfoliate and prep for lipstick application. TimeWise Repair Volu-Firm Night Treatment with Retinol is mixed with TimeWise Luminous-Wear Liquid Foundation to create a radiant complexion. Mary Kay Concealer is applied under the eyes and as needed. Next, Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream is applied on the brow bone and around the eye area for a subtle glow.

Eyes:
The eyes feature a defined lash created using Lash Love Lengthening Mascara in black. A bronzed eye look is created by applying Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Amber Blaze (fair skin) or Rosegold (darker skin) with a fluffy brush from the lash line and blending downward. Mary Kay At Play Bold Fluid Eyeliner in Gold Metal is applied on top and blended with the shadow downward and across the lash line using a pointy brush. NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Silver Moon is dabbed onto the lid for extra, light catching shimmer.

Lips:
A dewy, “bitten” lip look is created by applying True Dimensions Lipstick in Sizzling Red. Color is dabbed on the lip, brought just above the top lip line in areas and blended with fingers to create a stain. NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Pink Wink is applied on top to the center of the lip.

Cheeks:
A soft, rosy cheek adds a pop of color creating a “just in the wind” look with the Mary Kay At Play Lip & Cheek Stick in Peach Pop (fair skin) or Razzleberry (dark skin). Color is applied in a circular motion and blended using a sponge or fingers until you get a stain. Rhinestone “freckles” are applied for added sparkle.

NYFW WITH TRESEMME

Hi from New York Fashion Week everyone! As you can see from my Snaps and Instas, I’m having a blast at all the fantastic shows. A lot of this is thanks to my awesome partnership with TRESemmé, on their 15th season as the official hair care sponsor for NYFW.

Most of you know that my hair is naturally pretty wavy and I straighten it most of the time but when I got to the city, my hair took on a mind of its own thanks to the humidity #Frizzymadness! I wanted a sleek, straight look for my first day of shows and I was almost about to give up on that idea. But thanks to TRESemmé’s Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo and Keratin Smooth Smoothing Serum plus my TRESemmé stylist’s deft hand with a straightening iron, my hair looked amazing when I stepped out of the chair and stayed smooth and shiny all day! First stop was Marissa Webb where we got to go backstage and check out how the models get catwalk awesome. Let me tell you guys, its utter chaos back there. The show featured a side swept look created with panache. Some really clever use of playing cards, lots of TRESemmé TRES Two Hair Spray to finish off the look and the girls were ready to rock the catwalk.

I LOVE SLEEP

This was supposed to be one of my outfits at NYFW, unfortunately for the first few days, it was simply impossible to wear a sweater or any jackets because of the heat and muggy weather. This look was taken a day before leaving NYC when of course, it was nice and cool.

This sweatshirt says everything about me and the one thing I missed while in NYC. The city never sleeps and neither did I. Probably like everyone else, I barely got any sleep during Fashion Week, not for lack of tiredness but due to the fact that I was simply too anxious in waiting for the next day to arrive so I could pack in as many shows and events as humanly possible. But now, I’m back in L.A and its time to indulge!

Hello from NYC! I know I’ve been MIA for a little bit but I am out here on the east coast for Fashion Week and I couldn’t be more excited to get dressed and check out all my favorite designers. Fashion Week has always been a dream for me and every season I get out here, it still feels surreal.

These photos were taken on day 2. I couldn’t wait to post these pictures because I was super eager to debut my new fall booties from Carmen Steffens. Booties this versatile, as you can see from the 2 looks, are a real find!

CASUAL IN RED

So, the last time I wore this dress was 2 years ago at NYFW (posted here) and it hasn’t seen the outside world since. But there were 3 reasons why I had to take it out for a spin again. Firstly It was national wear red day, Fashion Week is going on right now and finally because February is the month of love :). Threw on a black cropped top to give it that pencil skirt effect and wore my leopard slip ons for a more casual look.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK S/S 2014 DAY 1

This week, I’ll be recounting all my New York fashion week outfits beginning with this look at the Hudson Hotel. Me and my blogger buddies An and Joo began our NYFW adventure at this awesome hotel, with our room serving as Fashion HQ.

We stayed at their deluxe double double which comfortably accommodated 3 girls and all of our bags. And when I say bags, I mean LOTS OF BAGS. Most hotel rooms in New York tend to be on the small side and we were a little apprehensive about being able to fit all 3 of us, but after we saw our room, those worries disappeared. Really loved that it’s situated at a prime spot, just a couple blocks away from Lincoln Centre where the bulk of our time would be spent.

We dug into some delicious tacos (NYFW fuel at the Tequila Park, the hotel’s “taco shack” and our end of day drinks were enjoyed at their super cool Library Bar.

These photos were taken at their beautiful sky terrace which was the perfect backdrop for this hot pink crop top by Naven, paired with a pair of Clover Canyon Bollywood Pants and my bad ass harness from BCBG. It’s not a typical Walk In Wonderland look but inspired by the city, I decided to push the envelope and try something a little more daring.
