Here are a few of my skincare secrets that were passed down from my mum and a few tricks I’ve learned over the years.
Firstly, water. Lots and lots of water! I still struggle with this on a daily basis as we all tend to do when running around from meeting to meeting or in the office, but I try to maintain the habit of drinking lots of water when I wake up and a few hours before I hit the bed as well as at hourly intervals during the day. It’s so important to stay hydrated for both your internal health as well as your skin!
I’ve started loading up on heathy snacks, I’ve always loved almonds and since they are high in essential fatty acids, it will slow down the aging process.
I’ve always kept a pretty simple skincare regimen. I believe that too many cooks in the kitchen spoil the broth. My 4 step system would be to 1)cleanse, 2)a serum – I’ve been trying the No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum for over 2 weeks now. My skin instantly felt smoother and more radiant since the serum specifically targets deep lines and wrinkles but it also gets more effective over time so the longer you use it, the better it gets! After that a 3)moisturizer. A point I must highlight is that you MUST not neglect your neck, so be sure to smooth on a serum and moisturizer into the face and neck. Finally 4) eye cream and I’m ready for bed.
If you live in a city where humidity is low and mostly dry, a humidifier in your bedroom next to you really helps your skin. Every time it gets dry here in LA (which is most of the year actually!) and I forget to switch on the humidifier, my skin feels a little dull the next morning.
