There is simply no city like New York, especially in the Fall months. It is my absolute favorite time to be in the city and while it’s an inspiring city to be in year round, it’s even more the case during Fall because nature starts playing a huge part! The weather was “unseasonably” warm during our stay with temps hovering around the 60s and low 70s but it was paradise considering that LA was in the 90s when we left.
Being in and around Central Park is just about the best place to be when it looks like this and our hotel of choice, The Quin was not only a prime location but luxurious as well. A suite just a couple of blocks away from Central Park? Sign me up! Every morning was spent walking around the park coffee in hand, before the city turned the ignition and revved up to full speed.
And speaking of full speed, getting round the city during rush hour is ridiculous unless you have options. Luckily for us, the entrance to the F train subway (the easiest and quickest way to get to SoHo) is right next to the hotel. The N and R trains are a block away. Columbus Circle is a 10 minute walk. We were afraid that our Metrocards would catch fire, we were using them so much! Location, location, location.
After full days of meetings and shoots, coming back to a warm bed and a nightcap to relax and rejuvenate for the days ahead was very much needed. Thankfully, we were well looked after by the staff at The Quin and we woke up every day rested and ready to go!
