SCENTS OF A WOMAN

Sharing something different and rather personal here aside from my usual style post. Not many of you know but I am a big perfume girl. This is something I thank my mum for because I was definitely influenced by her. If there is one thing she would always have in her bag no matter where she is headed to, it would be perfume. Her favorites were the the quintessential 80/90s fragrances like Christian Dior’s “Poison” and “Ms Dior”, YSL’s “Opium” and Lancome’s “Trésor”.

As a kid, my mum had to work nights as a nurse so I hated knowing she wasn’t home. I told her to give me her most recent top or PJs because the scents comforted me and helped me fall asleep. I am still so close to my mum even though she lives many miles away and it’s times like this, I am reminded how important she is to me.

I think fragrances are so subjective and everyone should have a signature scent. My signature scent will always be Chanel’s “Mademoiselle”. However over the last few months, I’ve been testing out some new fragrances and there have been my go-to’s. I switch every day depending on how I feel.

Arizona by Proenza Schouler, white cactus flowers with a unique mineral signature. This is great for the day, it’s light and reminds me that spring is almost here.

Encens Jinhae by Atelier Cologne, has a combination of cherry blossom from Jinhae,  incense from Samarkand and lemon from Sicily. I use it for both day and night

Promenade in the Gardens by Replica, floral and woody scent. Mix of Turkish rose, patchouli, sandalwood and vetiver. Love this for both day and night.

Alaia by Azzedine AlaiaMusky, Vanilla absolute base. Love this for the evening.
