geeK chicK

For a long time, I have been noticing the geek glasses trend on runways and fashion magazines but have always been on the fence on how it would look on me. I suppose it takes a certain kind of face to be able to wear them without looking ridiculous which by the way I think Johnny Depp is cutest in his nerd glasses.

I really wanted to have a shot at this trend before it dies a natural death. So about a month ago, I bought a pair and I am quite liking them now. What does everyone think of the geek glass trend?

Vintage Bell Jeans

I chose this 70s flare jeans which have been sitting in my closet for months just because I've been infatuated with skinny jeans for a long time. However today, I wanted to bring back a 70's fashion vibe so I paired it with a silk button down taupe shirt, threw on some peacock earrings and wrapped my neck with this beautiful scarf that I got from India ages ago.  I am really thrilled that I found this silk shirt from Urban Outfitters, similar to the Elizabeth and James Bonfire belted crepe shirt which i have been lusting over for Fall, at a much more affordable price.

Cozy Ponchos

A poncho's success depends on its proportion to your body. The last thing you want is to see more of the poncho than of you.  The trick is to make sure its neither too wide nor too long. If its too long, belt it to show where your waist is.

I have this pair of flared jeans that I have not worn in a long time and I  think I am ready to pull them out tomorrow and play it 70s.

Cheers everyone!!

Bohemian Rhapsody

Today I felt I wanted to incorporate a little bohemian element to my outfit, so I picked out this full skirt I purchased recently at Zara. I love the color and the fabric, paired it with an asymmetrical off shoulder top, skinny belt and my new obsession, the Fedora.

Fall and Fedoras

We've had a little sneak peak of Fall weather these past 3 days and especially after experiencing almost a week of crazy heat here in Los Angeles, I love it! It's PERFECT weather.

Casual headgear such as baseball hats, straw sun hats, newsboy caps, and even ski hats are inexpensive and can add a lot of style to a basic look. My favorite are the Fedoras.
